Does anyone have a kid on Vyvanse for ADHD?

Just wondering if, in your experience, it really lasts up to 13 hours.

Thanks!

I give it to my son around 6:45 am and I would say that the end of it's real benefit is 7 pm. So, not 13, but not too far from 13.

I certainly did last 13+ hours as DD had a hard time going to bed at night... we had to give her melatonin

How has Vyvanse affected kids' appetites?

My son who is on Vyvanse (and had previously been on Focalin) doesn't eat much since he started on it. He had the same reaction to Focalin, which is also a stimulant. The one thing I have noticed though is that my son is thirsty all the time. I go through milk and juice by the gallons each week because they are his drinks of choice. The calories help prevent weight loss, but it is a battle.

My DD was on both vyvanse and focalin with the same problems - lack of appetite, as well as problems falling asleep. On vyvanse had some increased anxiety problems.

OP here. Today was day one for DD, on dose of 20 mg. Seemed to REALLY help her. The teacher emailed me observing this.

Her appetite was definitely lower, and also, she seemed to "crash" a bit when the meds wore off at about 6:45 pm. -- got a little emotional.
