I know it may seem silly, but I'm not sure!
|
| vove KLEE-kou is my best phonetic spelling. |
|
Almost. The second name is easier to relay. It's clee coe, like the last name coe.
Veuve, which means "widow," is harder to explain. It's not a long o, it's a sound that does not exist in English, this French "eu." Try this: http://www.forvo.com/word/veuve_cliquot/ A votre sante! |
| Vof Klee-KO! |
| It's not vof, the second v is not hard. |
| Vuhv Klee KO. (That's close at least!) |
| This thread is giving me a much-needed laugh today. Cheers, OP! |
| Yes, it is close, but it's not quite uh, either! |
| voove kli-ko |
|
Vee-ooh-vee Click-kwot
But I'm from Jersey. So. |
| who cares just drink it! |
| vuhv clee co |
this is closest, there is no "oo" |
It's pronounced "Veuve Clicquot."
But really, you can't improve on Forvo (even if they spelled it wrong). |
| No it is NOT Vuhv! It's more the "u" from uhr. |
