Can anyone recommend stores in the region to try out gliders besides Babies R Us? I prefer the completely upholstered kind, if you have experience. |
We liked Buy Buy Baby. |
Not sure where you live, but Great Beginnings in Gaithersburg, Md. has a great display of Dutailier. |
And if you're in VA, Baby 2 Teen in Manassas has a ton to try out too.
http://www.baby2teenfurniture.com/ There's also a chair store in Alexandria in the little industrial strip by Marlo, just off 395. |
Baby Depot inside the Burlington Coat Factory |
Wren and Divine has nice gliders. We got one there that was very reasonably priced and on the smaller side, which we needed b/c the nursery is small. |
Got mine from Target - it's worked fine and was cheaper than all the baby stores. |
Cradle and Crayon in Reston, VA. |
We went glider shopping at Buy Buy Baby -- they had a large selection and there was someone on hand to talk about style options/features. |
we got our dutailier all-upholstered glider at great beginnings. they have an awesome selection and the chair is beautiful - it's EXTREMELY comfortable. |
I actually bought a glider rocker at Value City Furniture in Baileys Crossroads about 4 years ago. At the time, I was single and just looking for a comfortable "reading" chair for my apartment. Now, 4 years later, I am all set for baby! Some of the furniture at Value City is poor quality, but the rocker has held up very, very well. At the time, they had three different styles of glider rockers. Not sure what they have now (or if the quality has remained the same)... but the prices might be better than some of the baby stores. |
I have fallen in love with a glider at Daisy Baby in downtown Bethesda. It is on the pricier end, but with that comes great design that does not scream 'nursing station'. And the staff are really helpful and friendly. |
A second vote for Wren & Divine. I love that they have so many fabrics to choose from. |
