the reason why it's worth it is because it conducts heat so much better (the pot as a whole heats up more quickly than others), which makes boiling water for pasta a cinch, and it's versatile. you can use it for soups, you can stick it in the oven for no-knead bread and no handles will melt off, you can braise meats in it... it does what any other huge pot would do, only better.
also, don't buy a le creuset full price if that's what you're looking at. i see them at marshall's all the time. |
| Yes, it is well worth the investment. Get a medium sized one (one that can hold a 4 lb chicken) and you will see how useful it is. |
