IUI's and shady grove

HI! What has your experience been like with Shady Grove Fertility. wondering how long an IUI can take for woman in late 30's. also, did you change your diet, do acupunture, etc. thanks

depending on your diagnosis each cycle of IUI has about a 10 to 18% chance of working.

I'm 39 and did 2 iuis at shady grove with no luck i did do acupuncture, but didn't really change my diet (although i'm a pretty healthy eater). i wish more luck to you!

I had iuis at Shady Grove, late 30s and got pregnant on the third one. I did not change my diet, except for cutting out caffeine completely - I used to drink lots of diet cola, never liked coffee. I started to do accupuncture but I got sick of my accupuncturist because she was attempting to give me medical advice and acted shocked when I did not get pregnant on try #2 so I stopped seeing her.

Hmmm. Your experience sounds like mine. I actual cut out cola as well, very addicted but have found sparkling water . I have some cysts that formed so I need to take break this month. Hopefully can resume next month. Just not sure if I believe acupuncture works. I have done it for 5 months and still 0 result. I had a miscarriage in march.

Previous poster, I am sorry about your miscarriage and hope that things work out for you in the future. I do not know if accupuncture works, but to give it a good shot, you need someone who is really skilled and knows about fertility. Be careful. I felt like my accupuncturist misled me and told me I had a pregnant pulse when I didn't - so that made me feel it was a waste of time. I actually got pregnant on a cycle when I did no accpuncture treatment around procedure time - but did one when I was taking the clomid pills. Here's a book I read when I decided to try accupuncture - maybe it can help you think more about it:

I did 4 IUI cycles at SG, one cancelled at trigger, the other 3 failed. I was 39. After the last one, they wanted me to move on to IVF, but I felt I needed a drug-free "mental health" break for one cycle, and you can guess what happened . . . due in a few weeks.

I did a few cycles before it worked. The cycle it worked I had switched to drinking whole milk. GL
