Lady who found the lump in her breast here again.

Hello.

First of all, thanks for the support in my original thread. I really appreciate it, and sure did need it. GW was really great about doing mammo and then sono and getting it all done in one day and sending me out the door with at least SOME idea of what was going on.

I am now waiting for the results of a fine needle aspiration biopsy I had on Tuesday.

If I told you I was fine I'd be lying. I'm quietly a mess inside. The wait is awful.

I keep thinking I'm A-OK, and intellectually know there's still a really good chance this is nothing, and then I find I've been staring at a wall for ten minutes straight at work.
I just want to be OK and have this be over with.

OP here.
Benign! ...and exhale. What a wringer. Thanks all, I really appreciate the support. I go for a standard six month follow-up but all is well.

This is great news, but welcome to the dance. Follow up diligently, but put it out of your mind in the meantime!

How wonderful! I'm so happy for you. I can totally emphasize with the fear that you were feeling. At the age of 33, I found a lump in my right breast and it felt rather large. I had a mammo, an ultrasound and was subsequently referred to a surgeon for immediate removal of the lump. I was paralized with fear. The lump turned out benign. It was a tubular adenoma and I felt so relieved.

I'm so happy to hear that you are fine.
