HSG question

Anonymous
When's the best time in my cycle? Does it really hurt? Can I go to work afterward?

You have to do it CD 7-10. It didn't hurt me at all -- just a little cramping like period cramps. I went to work afterward. I had mine done at shady grove and it was a breeze.

doctor decides when you have it done. it is uncomfortable, but not overly painful and yes you can go to work afterwards.

By doctor determines when, do you mean it's determined by the doctor's schedule? I have had 5 HSGs done and every last one of them has been done between days 5-10 of my cycle when the doctor has time available on his schedule in that window. They are always done after AF is finished, so that the lining is thin and best shows any imperfections in the cavity, and prior to ovulation to ensure that there is no damage or impact to an implanted embryo or embryo development in the tube.

I think mine got scheduled for Day 9. I forgot to take a pain reliever beforehand, but experienced no pain; it's just a tad uncomfortable, but fortunately, very quick.

Mine didn't hurt at all. I was prepared for the worst but was pleasantly surprised!
