How does it work at Shady Grove for #2?

Anonymous
We were fortunate enough to have conceived our first child on our second IUI with clomid -- overall pretty low-intervention. We were at Shady Grove. We're starting to think about #2 and know that we have to go back to SG. We are wondering whether we will have to do all the initial testing over again -- the sperm analysis, the blood tests, the test where they inject dye into the uterus. Also, does anyone know if SG's pricing has increased in the last couple years? I recall the price for clomid+IUI being about $1200 the first time and $1000 the second time.
Thanks in advance for any info.

I can't speak to the testing, but we recently did IUI at SG and it was 1,600 for the first.

I did ivf in 2005 and then again in 2009 at SG and only repeated the SA and cycle day 3 blood work (not the hsg).

I cycled there last yr. and the prices were the same as what you quoted. You probably won't need the s/a or the HSG but they will want to run your Day 3 again.

For IVF, how does the costing work? I know you get "discounts" for second-round plus; does that start over when you try for #2?

this isn't true. each cycle costs the same unless you pay for the shared risk program.

I went 6 months after having my first child with them and had to redo everything except the HSG (all blood work etc can't be over a year old).

I didn't do shared risk, but the paperwork for the "package" deal that we bought (i.e., insurance didn't pay for anything but meds so we paid out of pocket for everything else) showed a slight reduction in cost for the "package" for reach round of IVF.

I'm 20:22. We cycled there back last Nov. I did the shared risk program, got pregnant the first time and delivered DC in August. We are going back for #2 in March - it will be all out of pocket again. Our shared risk contract ($22k) has been "satisfied" because we delivered a live baby.

We will start over for IVF#2. We do have frozen embryos left over so we will pay for an FET which will be like $4k.
