Recommend your (male) Doctor please!

Hi there, while we lucked out with our daughters local and in network pediatrician, husband and I have not had much luck finding a good local doctor for ourselves. We've suffered through a horrible practice with rushed misdiagnosed appointments and bad billing errors at the place we've both belonged to for the past few years. Finally, on this board I found a recommendation for a woman doctor for myself and see her for the first time in a few weeks. But husband would prefer a male doctor and I am seeking shout outs. We live in the North Bethesda/ Kensington/ Rockville area. We have a Blue Choice HMO policy (which sucks) so we're somewhat limited to our network.

Any leads most gratefully received, thanks.

why he prefers a male?

PP, I think it's pretty common to prefer seeing a doctor that's your own gender.

Op here....Um....why wouldn't/ shouldn't he?! He's had both and personally just prefers not to have to drop his pants/ have his parts examined and possibly (since all males of certain age have to do this) have prostate issues probed by a woman. Any reason why that is odd?!!! Same reason I personally prefer to have a female doctor, where possible and on a level playing field.( Odd response.....)

Not sure if this is the right part of Rockville for you (up by Shady Grove), but my husband's PCP is Jeremy Janssen and he seems to like him. Of course, he has a female associate (not sure if she's MD or NP), so you may still end up seeing a woman for some visits.

Thank you! I will check out Dr Janssen. We're in Kensington so it's a bit far - but worth looking into! He doesn't mind seeing a woman all that much, just for the main doctor would prefer a guy
