I have been hearing stories about IUD's having a harder time staying in, as well as other complications, if you have not had vaginal births. Has anyone had 3 C's and gone ahead to have a fine time with Mirena?
TIA. |
| I had two C-sections and then a Mirena. No problems. Doctor was mostly worried about pain during placement, but it wasn't too big a deal. |
| OP here. thanks for the reply, PP. Did your DR talk to you about the cervix being okay for it? |
| Oh, and do you still have it? Do you like it? |
| She was a little concerned about dilating my cervix during placement since I hadn't dilated much prior to that. I took a valium and some advil before the procedure. I still have it. Its made my periods lighter, which is nice. I don't remember her mentioning anything about it falling out or anything. |

Not OP, but I also had 3 C-sections and have been on the fence about mirena because I worry about pain during insertion because I hadn't dilated with either of the first 2 C's, and before te 3rd, I wasn't checked right beforehand, so I don't know if I had dilated at all.
For 14:41, did the valium help? My OB did not mention valium as an option when we discussed my fear of insertion. |
| Not sure if it helped, but it wasn't very painful. It made me feel loopy and I couldn't drive after, so was kinda sorry I had it. |
