I don’t think anyone denies she’s in her 80s. She still looks great. Many older women do not, not should that be an expectation for older people if they don’t want to. I think the expectation that women should look like they’re in their 30s right up till the casket is weird, but I can definitely see why someone in the public eye would try to keep it up. There is a double standard. Mitch McConnell looks like he’s packing steel wool in his neck pocket and that’s okay but Speaker Pelosi’s used root spray even though all the salons are closed?! Quelle horreur! |
+1 It amazes me that people can't seem to asses people for looking good for their age. Looking good and looking young are different. She's also not someone whose job is to look pretty like a movie star or TV personality. She has a day job and keeps up her looks on the side. Most of the pols don't even bother. Given that, she looks absolutely amazing. |
She keeps well for a contessa |
Why does being too big matter? |
Are you going to cry that it's not fair and she cheated? |
The health issues related to being obese are only further exacerbated as one ages. That doesn’t help with looking good for your age. Granted, being skinny ages people more than probably anything else so the best place to be for an older person, looks wise, is probably overweight but not obese |
Plenty of people her age also have a ton of plastic surgery and still look terrible. Ivana Trump, for instance, is only 71 and looks older than Nancy despite trying really hard not to. |
He definitely looks 80 to me, in spite of all the makeup. |
What’s that? |
Think like an Italian grande dame |
The Many Masks of Nancy Pelosi

Bumping a year old thread because it's her 81st birthday and I'm so amazed. I know her mask game is well documented and well appreciated but I continue to be amazed by how good she looks (and how smart and kick*ss she is) for her age whenever I see her |
My mom is two years older and looks much younger and much better. My mom had a very successful business that she ran until a few years ago. That definitely helped keep her sharp. Additionally, while my mom isn’t overweight, she isn’t thin either. Just like her mom, she has a little bit of plump that keeps wrinkles down to almost nothing. Turns out, science is now saying a bit of weight for elderly folks is actually a good thing. People often think she is 63 not 83. |
Ehhh....Nancy’s body is AMAZING for 80. Can’t comment on your Mom but Nancy looks better in clothing than most women >50 I’ve seen...and she’s >80!!! |
She looks good now because she has always looked good and taken pride in her appearance. She learned long ago what lines work for her body and sticks to that. |
