| I'm more concerned about the previous owner's half-assed DIY home improvement projects than I am about ghosts. |
| Yes. I don’t believe in the supernatural and I don’t care about any stigma in the community. |
| I wouldn't be concerned about ghosts but I remember being in high school when the Goff murders occurred and remember all the news reports. I just wouldn't ever feel comfortable knowing 5 people lost their lives in that house. I was always surprised the mom and son were able to remain living in the house for years after. |

Haven’t read the thread. But is there a database for this?
My answer is no. But how could I check? |
DC native here and my first association whenever I hear about the Park View neighborhood is a still a number of murders in the 90s, one where they only found a torso. Some of you may own one of these houses now. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/style/dcs-last-serial-killer-the-princeton-place-murders-20-years-later/2014/06/16/9038bba0-f028-11e3-bf76-447a5df6411f_story.html?utm_term=.b0565cc64eb3 https://www.washingtonpost.com/archive/politics/1998/01/30/arrest-made-in-cluster-of-dc-killings/86c26a18-8db7-48d4-b730-ed8a90b7cacd/?utm_term=.7f2d8bd06e57 https://www.washingtoncitypaper.com/news/article/13014920/post-mortem |
Actually, it's not, and if you're an agent and do, your client can sue you. |
Is your boyfriend married?! |
I know - weird, PP! |
| At the time period, in 1995, I was 6 years as a licensed MHIC Contractor. The news of the planned rape & murder of the youngest daughter, Alyse, of Dr.Goff & his wife ,Irma....and the murders of their 2 other daughters, Andrea, & Sherri, & the painting contractor,Mark Aldridge, shook many peoples conscience, as well as my own. Now, entering my 35th year, serving my community, in Pikesville, I set down my rules as to how to serve my customers, safely, since the Goff murders in 1995.I never did, nor ever will , bring any foreign born workers into a customer's house, that is currently occupied .I am on every job , doing most of the work.I also remember a similar story, in my town, here, where a teenage girl, the only daughter, was gunned down after entering her parents house 1 afternoon,to retrieve her mail, only to interrupt a burglary. The burglar was a handyman hired by the family to do repairs, previously. He stalked the property, only to break in to burglarize it, when nobody was there. The Goff family house should have been purchased by the State of Maryland, and torn down.No one else should have been allowed to live there, after 5 PEOPLE WERE MURDERED there. The house near me should have been demolished completely, not a portion of it, where the family's daughter was murd ered.Condolences to these 2 families. |
| It’s a hell no for me. I don’t believe in ghosts. But I do believe in resale value. |

I feel context matters... do you live in a neighborhood that used to be crime-ridden but now has been gentrified? I wouldn't be too bothered if 25 years ago, a drug dealer was shot and died on my stoop. I actually would be much more bothered to find out that the house had been, for a couple decades, a shooting gallery where dozens and dozens of poor sad souls lived in misery.
Would I be bothered if a serial killer had killed his victims in my house, or if someone had died in a slow and cruel way? yes. |
That’s immediately the house that came to mind. I remember both murders. Harder to do your due diligence when they change the address! |
| I don't want a used home. I want my murder to be the first. |

I don't believe in ghosts, I would just think about it a lot. And then think about that movie The Grudge. Then remind myself I don't believe in ghosts, etc.
It is funny though that the house I grew up in always seemed fine, I had friends come over all the time, I remember the yard as a nice sunny place. But, through high school and when I went off to college the trees along the driveway started growing thicker and taller, and my parents noticed that fewer and fewer kids came on halloween and some years none at all. One year, the neighborhood brat came, pale as a ghost, clearly there on a dare, and told them that the reason nooone came is because everyone knew the house was haunted—on a dark november night, with those trees and a long driveway, it definitely looked it. |
| Yes unless I knew the people that were murdered or it was some really high profile case. |
