What kind of school will Van Ness Elementary end up being? More like Brent, Maury, or Ludlow-Taylor?

FWIW, We have a child at Van Ness (PK3), and the program there has exceeded our expectations. The lead and partner teachers are both great. They work very well with the kids, and our child looks forward to going to Van Ness everyday. Also, I'm pretty sure that most of the kids that go to the school are in-bound. It seems like there are lots of families walking their kids to school.

They're walking from IB Brent neighborhoods.

There are a number of kids in PK4 at Van Ness who are IB for Brent. But the PK3 class is entirely or almost entirely IB. I do not believe there is a single child in PK3 at Van ness this year who is actually IB for Brent.
