Mad Men - the final count down

Yes. My favorite scene so far this season.

I posted this on another MM thread, but this is a more appropriate place:

I loved this episode. The last few barely held my interest, but it seemed like the writers got back into the classic Mad Men vibe with this one. Roger playing the organ while Peggy skated through the empty office (drunk) was fantastic. And I laughed out loud when Peggy dropped her coffee, looked around for some way to clean it up, and then just shrugged and walked away. At the end when she was walking down the hall to her new office like a badass wearing sunglasses with a cigarette in her mouth and the pornographic artwork under her arm just made my day.

I wish Joan had carried through with her threats. Fingers crossed that she'll exact revenge.

Highlights from next episode look very intriguing with whatever shady stuff seems to be going on with Pete.

It was worth sitting through the last 3 episodes just to see Peggy do that scene. Total badass!

I agree, this episode was awesome! That scene of Peggy rollerskating was the best thing ever and loved her total badass stroll down the hall at Mcann. I finally feel like the episodes are ramping up towards the finale. The last two were both really great.

only one last episode for them to bring back the gay art director. he would have added so much as a regular character.

I loved Sal. Unfortunately, the 1960s Don couldn't handle it. We'd be foolish to think he'd be okay with it.

I loved this episode. Agree that the scene with Peggy and Roger was awesome, as was Peggy's final scene as she entered the office. However, overall it was really sad - notwithstanding Joan's and Peggy's professional achievements, they are back to being demoted to "a woman's place."

Also Sal's character and situation could have occupied so much screen time he might have railroaded the original premise of the story. Still, I was sad when he never came back.

That's true for Joan, but I don't think its true for Peggy. She has her accounts, she has her office - remember they "employed" her as a senior creative.

I suspect the nonsense with Peggy's office was foreshadowing how dispensible she will be at McCann. Plus they sent her flowers like all the secretaries, and the head of the agency made a reference to Peggy not having the same status at McCann as she did at Sterling Cooper.

But where the hell did they get the roller skates?

The roller skates were in a corner in the scene where she was making coffee on the stove. I assume they were left over from some ad campaign. Awesome episode.

I think Peggy is the new Roger, as opposed to the new Don, which is what she has always wanted to aspire to.

I think that is the end of Don at McCann. I doubt, with two episodes left, that we will see him back in an ad office. Once he heard the Miller guy tell Ted the same thing the big wigs at McCann tell Don, he knew this was not where he wanted to be. Plus, not like he needs the rest of his money.

I wouldn't be surprised if Peggy leaves and she and Joan do their own thing - I would love that.

I was 100% behind Joan's decision. No sense in trying to take on the big McCann; just take your money and go. I hope that wasn't the last we see of her.

Looks like the next episode is where we get closure with Betty.

Was the hippie that was in the car with Don at the end supposed to be a young version of Don? Did anyone think he kind of resembled Don? Maybe more like they are both roaming, looking for something even though their appearances are 100% different? I don't know if that is what they were trying to get at or not.

LOVED the scene with Peggy and Roger. Her character's metamorphosis has by far been the best I have seen since Walter White.

I think the whole series is really about Peggy's metamorphoses. The series starts on her first day.
