| My co-worker in Loudon County felt that block scheduling was terrible for math. Some weeks his kid only had math 2x. It was not enough to keep it fresh. |
Many colleges have adopted a version of the Dartmouth approach to language study, which is 5 day a week classes. Maybe you didn't go to one of those or didn't take language in college. |
Every other day for double the time was not that fresh? I guess college will be really hard for them. |
The reason is because of the grade inflation. They should stop bumping grades of AP courses. Let kids take them but stop the grade inflation. Most of these families are doing this to game the grades. |
of course they are |
Not necessarily. My kid had a B+ average on his AP gov, but because of getting a 2 on the AP, the grade was bumped to a D+. We are at a charter. Not sure what happened with the other students' grades. So the AP grade is the one which dictates the final grade? |
He sounds very well prepared for college! |
Kid was 11..he has a while to prepare for college. |
Block scheduling isn't needed for that age because the HW and workload isn't as severe. |
| Block scheduling is AWESOME! |
