You and/or DH are from New England. You were in a sorority, moved to DC immediately after college and spent your 20's sloppy drunk in dives around town. You've cleaned up nicely since then, though. |

You are a Kennedy. You know your way around a rosary and a good gin gimlet. You are comfortable using the argot of sailing and dressage in conversation without sounding pretentious (because it is natural for you). You know what "argot" means and how to pronounce it, even if sometimes you slur it a bit due to affinity for aforementioned gimlets. You and your always-washed children smell faintly of expensive lotion. You often wear linen, because you're not the one to wash and iron your clothes. I may have gone to college with you. I probably even liked you and you me, because you are well-mannered but not stuffy (which I find refreshing) and I am the second generation of a redneck family to go to a fancy undergraduate institution (which you find curious). |
Well, you're not Jewish. You grew up in a big family, and your husband did too. The issue of abortion makes you think of losing your beautiful children, and you can't fathom why someone would make that choice except in the most extreme and desperate of circumstances, but birth control and sex ed are no-brainer issues you advocate for. You are close to your parents and your many siblings, and your husband is the same. You can talk politics and current events, but you're so damn busy with six kids that, really, who has the time? You surf the web from 11pm-2am to "get away from it all," though you actually do love your life. Your kids will grow up to be well-liked middle managers in fields such as accounting, nursing, and education. |
You are a romantic. You are a lefty, and though you're not and activist, you'll sign just about any change.org petition that comes your way and post it to Facebook. You would not dream of calling your child "Bea," but sometimes "Reeci" slips out. You buy high end clothes for your daughter, even though pre-kids you swore you would not be so ridiculous, but she is just so damn adorable and wouldn't this Korean-inspired print dress look so cute on her? Besides, it'll hold up well for your second child which you're secretly hoping will also be a girl. |
