| Even if true, it's not a race at all in the bigger areas. Where we're at it's a staggered start for each school participating. Even then, there are no awards for finishing first second third or 300th. |
Wtf why does your third grader have a "boyfriend"? You have bigger concerns than running lady. |
Says GOTR is just girls is fine and if people want a boys running club they should put in the work, I agree. But GMAFB about "every advantage in life." I didn't know every boy was born white and rich as well. Look at some obvious stats about college attendance etc. |
| A runner parent at our school organized a morning Run Club for boys and girls so that both of her twins (B/G) could participate. It was a very popular option for both genders. |
Of course is was the mom. Didn’t she think of all the opportunities she was closing off for her son to whine about how unfair things were to boys?!!!? |
| I asked the same question. Keep asking. I don't know an alternative. |

Our school does Boys Gotta Run (and Girls on the Run). They meet separately. It's fine. They cheer each other on at practices and run in each others' 5Ks. (The GOTR is a bigger local event and the BGR is just in the neighborhood by the school.)
Both depend on parent volunteers, so that's a factor. |
Heres one! Ask your husband to start a boys-only club or you yourself start a co-ed one! |
"Well, Larlo, moms are the glue that holds extracurricular activities together, and the moms volunteered to run the GOTR chapter at your school. No dads volunteered to run an equivalent program for boys." |

Are you the same people who can't understand why there is no White History Month?
Go read a few books and come back to us. |
| There's a Boys Gotta Run. |
+1 to this! It is detrimental to Boys if there are no activities available to boys at the school. Girls on the Run is the only afterschool activity allowed by the principal and the principal subsidises the program! |
That sounds like a problem with your principal, and is not the way it works at other schools or a problem with Girls on the Run. |
I agree, but just for the record, being rich matters WAAAAAY more than being white. |
I don’t buy this. Please share the school you’re talking about. After school activities aren’t in the principals purview— she can’t ban scouts or mathnasium. If you mean your school doesn’t have a running club for boys, start a co-ed one (assuming you’re a mother), using non-school facilities. |
