Wow! Agree 100% you sound extremely bitter about your child not getting that offer. Why don't you worry about your child's development/team. That's the real issue here parents worrying too much about rejection and not accepting/moving on and focusing on your own child's success. |
Losing badly is not team success. It's several selfish players getting accolades for failing and awful coaching. Par for the course of all local clubs. Club soccer is rip off recreational soccer with a big name. Have fun watching those D3 games. |
Do you have any idea how showcase works (not playoffs)??? Coaches walk away? No, coaches usually only stay a half at most games unless they are seriously invested in a certain player. That's an uninformed comment however coaches will walk away if the game is a blowout and domination. BUT it's not their first day at the rodeo and will come back to scout more games. No coach scouts off one game, or at least good ones don't. LOL at your next accusation. That doesn't even deserve being addressed since you don't know how showcases work. Showcase = equal playing time. Playoffs equal trying to win until you are eliminated and then equal playing time. A good coach will want to try to get all of his players scouted by coaches at showcases, not worry about winning showcase games, lol. What kind of an ugly cowardly parent calls other girls mediocre? Oh, you. I hope your child is nothing like you and I feel for the other parents that have to deal with you on a weekly basis. It is very apparent you do not know what you are talking about. Both 08 and 09 team have many players currently being recruited at D1 schools. The 09 team was placed in the toughest bracket where many of our ECNL teams also would have struggled. To their credit, they did tie the team that made it all the way to the Championship game. The 10s and 11s now get Champions Cup for at least a year which is great news for the 10s no matter how they do. Oh, you know how you make playoffs? Winning league games. There is not a single Club in the area that has every age group make playoffs. Some years many clubs that have been around for over 20 years or more are lucky to even get two teams.
You know that many of those D3 players play soccer and go on to make 3x what the average NWSL player makes in their VERY FIRST YEAR OUT OF COLLEGE! Especially players from MIT, Johns Hopkins, WashU, and many others. Meanwhile, many players that go D1 end up at parties, never see playing time and either quit or transfer to mid-majors or DIII schools. Their are no guarantees. On top of that, one major injury can also change everything. But keep putting down those who go D3. When I read either of the quoted posts above, i see parents that actually know nothing, don't see out of the box, and have awful priorities in reference to Youth Soccer. They are typically D1 or bust, ECNL or bust. They put status above all else instead of prioritizing what is important for success. Playing ECNL or D1 does not equal success. Education combined with a kind heart and strong work ethic regardless of any league or Division will bring you much more success than being skilled on the pitch and a major knee injury won't completely ruin those chances either. So, have fun watching those D1 games. Hopefully your child will see the pitch by Junior year if she doesn't quit or transfer to a smaller school by then! |
| Ugh. Two NC overnights this fall, so much for less travel. |
Some people will complain about everything. There is only one trip to NC. All the rest are very local games in VA. It's less travel than we had last year in GA with trips to Delaware, Pennsylvania, and north of Baltimore. |
Cool story-vrsc still is the dumpster in the eyes of the rest of NoVa teams. Sucks to suck. |
It might sucks to be at VRSC but sucks a heck of a lot more to turn into someone like you. |
Untrue. There's a wake trip and a charlotte trip. |
| The long post above is completely unhinged. Looks like a club rep…maybe one with substance abuse issues. |
No, the unhinged one is you, calling kids mediocre and telling kids they suck. Has nothing better to do than post nasty comments about others. |
Compared to what? Seems pretty minimal to me. |
SYC says “more value for less travel” on their website. The page also says that SYC has the best turf fields and Bermuda grass fields in the region. I guess you can’t believe everything you read. |
Not for all clubs. VRSC, McLean, NVA only have one NC trip. TSJFC, Springfield, Loudoun, Alexandria all have two. Welcome to the world of the haves and the have nots. |
The place I go to for breakfast says "World's Best Cup Of Coffee". Are you telling me that might not be true? |
Guess what. All those with one will have two in spring. And vice versa. At least at u13 and u14 |
