Even the way he walks and his manner, really reminds me of George BUsh. In this time I though we would have a serious president. I'm also saddened by the fact that instead of tackling the economy he demonizes businesses and then threatens them with higher taxes. I may be a social liberal and want gay marriage and freedom of my body but I understand that when you tell a small business owner like my father (who voted for him) that you will continue to raise his taxes he will not hire a new worker. I really hope Hillary runs against him in the primary.

I would be grateful if you could send me links to stories reporting on the administration's plans to raise taxes on small businesses.

This should explain it (raising income taxes also raises taxes on small business owners).

From a news outlet or a truly nonpartisan think tank, not Grover Norquist's ATR. His work is fairly shoddy, mainly of the "shoot first, ask questions later" school.

Are we talking about the same guy?

Seriously 22:57, don't you know he wants to raise the income tax on certain people? He's been pretty vocal about it. If you don't even know that, you really have no business commenting on his job performance as clearly you live under a rock.

I rate my president on other things besides just income tax. He doesnt lie like former pres. Hes very smart and admits mistakes. I hope he wins again

Too many people really hate to see this fabulous well educated black couple living better than they are. I think their natural sense of entitlement kicks in and they can’t help themselves! Btw, before you flame… I am White!

Too many people cannot get over the fact that Obama is not perfect and these people cannot see that people who complain about him might have legitimate complaints. Instead they ignorantly dismiss any complaints as racism.

BTW, just because you like and support Obama does not make you exempt from being a racist yourself--you certainly have the back-asswards thinking needed to be one.

Well heck, if that's all you care about, you should consider voting for my toddler.

Your toddler would be smarter than Bush. This is a huge step up from where we were

You're toddler would do better than Bush did. Do you Obama haters really think one guy can come into office and fix what Bush messed up in two years. No one is capable of that.

"Vote for a change you can believe in" was his campaign slogan. I didn't think the only "change" would be changing his clothes or that I was voting for a change that would be worse. Just proves the adage, "Cheer up, things could be worse. You cheered up and sure enough things got worse."

What an effing joke. I'd like to see anyone do better in two years. Bush and co. were president for EIGHT years. EIGHT. He started 2 wars and depleted all surplus funds. Not to mention drove a cultural wedge through the heart of this country and alienated the rest of the free world. Obama has surely made mistakes. But he is thoughtful and smart. ANd to those who say he has done nothing, you obviously are choosing not to inform yourself. He has tried many things and passed some very progressive legislation (not as much as i'd like, however). You are deluding yourself to not recognize this.

Do you understand how government works? The man doesn't decree an agenda and poof! He has to work through two -very uncooperative and dysfunctional- groups of people on the Hill first. The party of no -GOP- has been masterful at being an impediment at every turn. The head of my Agency -a very low level, unimportant in the rank of things- has been a holdover b/c of the folks with "r" after their name. This guy is not responsible for security, health, safety . . . yet the biggest production and behind the scenes maneuvering is going on. By both sides. It is disgusting. It is dysfunctional. It is Obama's reality. It is our reality. And, it is a real problem for this and any president to completely follow through on all their campaign promises. But, surely you realize that campaigning is different than governing, right?

22:57 here. Yes, I understand he wants to raise taxes on folks who gross more than 250k per annum. If a small business owner earns less than 250K in personal, not business, revenue, then s/he would not incur the tax. If the small business owner has a personal income in excess of 250K, then s/he is not middle class and liable for the tax.

The tax is not on any small business owner, only those individuals, regardless of profession, who earn more than 250K.

I am fairly stunned at the appalling ignorance of many of the comments in this thread. In the last one hundred years, only two other presidents have successfully led the charge for legislation of such sweeping magnitude - Roosevelt + Johnson. Whether you support a more equitable health care system, or oppose "Obamacare," you are dismissing facts if you believe he has not done anything.
