London is HORRIBLE

^^ also, I second the suggestion about volunteering. Highgate Cemetery needs volunteers, as do the food banks.

NP. But this is possibly the dumbest post in this thread. And there are several elite contenders.

Yeah yeah, everyone knows the South Asian and other immigrant food in London is good. (Sort of. People oversell this all the time, but fine.)

So what? Pretty much any large city on earth has good options if you want authentic, cheap, ethnic food and go to the right neighborhoods to find it.

Beyond that, the London food scene is absolute trash. Utterly mid Dishoom gets talked about like it’s some world class destination. It’s McDonalds. The turbot from Brat? Meh. There isn’t a single decent steak in the entire city.

I could go on but won’t.

Please tell us which restaurants anywhere in the world you like, so we can gauge how worthwhile your opinion is.

This is the travel forum, why are you posting here about living in London? London is lovely to visit, but of course quite expensive. I think you're wrong about food, but that is probably because I eat a lot of British-Indian ("curry") and Middle Eastern food when I'm in the UK and have a bit of an affinity toward jacket potatoes with baked beans and cheese. I will agree that the people are mean and racist AF (I am Indian-American, so I've been called a "Paki" before).

NYC is awesome
Tokyo is awesome
Seoul is deracinated
Paris is meh
Madrid is awesome
London is hot garbage

Pithy!
Anything for Frankfurt, Singapore or Toronto?

NP but I hate Singapore. It's too clean, it feels like an amusement park.

When I lived in the UK a colleague once asked me “what do you miss most about America?“
I said I miss the Convenience of living in America. She had no idea what I was talking about.
For those who have lived in another country, IYKYK

Let’s start with asking the Native Americans?
And then let’s get educated on the Triangular Trade Route
Also India wants the Crown Jewels back

Oh FFS axe grind white people are bad I’m out

I’m not sure how many are born Americans or have a fully American experience, since I’ve for sure never read this much stupid and crazy in one place than from the anti-London posters. No wonder cosmopolitan Americans aren’t welcome anywhere

Should we do Delhi next?

What is wrong with you people. Enjoy Brambleton.

To the person above dumping on the pensions — it’s 70-100 percent or more of your top earning, so not too shabby for a pair of Wall Street/City folk. And then on top we have 401k too. Don’t know anyone anyone with an anything replacement. Take a walk

londoner - it is true that asian racism is a HUGE issue in london, and much bigger issue than Black racism IMO, having grown up there, which made BLM feel odd bc it hadn't been changed to brown lives matter, which would have been a better conversation.

I disagree that ppl are mean. i dont think you can say that about any city or country. i mean - clearly ridiculous to so generalize.

Please clarify. Surely you are not saying that your Annual pension Payout is 100 percent of your top earning? Because if so, I think I need to educate you on how your own pension system works. Hip Replacement, Shoulder Surgery, ENT surgery, ANY OPTIONAL OR ELECTIVE SURGERY. You DO know people who are on waiting lists throughout the UK, right, or are you here to lie, twice.
