Never has camera on in zooms.

At law firms, camera off is very typical, in my experience.

I assume one or more of the following:
1. They simply aren’t camera ready (basically they look like hell that day)
2. Multitasking or not paying attention
3. Some kind of social anxiety

When my camera is off, it’s 1 and/or 3.

Oops, I meant the first 2.

Me being on camera brings zero additional value to the call.

Because - would you join an in person meeting, turn around and not face anyone?

Ain’t nobody wants to work. It interrupts Netflix, online bullshit, online shopping, naps, cmon now…y’all know the working from home shuffle. I ain’t turning on my camera.

As a member of an HOA, If you'd like to speak, show your face.

It's always the keyboard warriors who complain and then will never show their face.

If you are going to be the biggest ass in the community in 30 years, people need to see your UGLY mug.

I don't feel like doing my hair and makeup. That's literally the only reason.

I thought about attending a zoom meeting while grabbing groceries the other day. Camera off, ear bud in.

I didn’t do it.

It wasn’t for paid work, but for a regular class I’m taking (independent professional, not academic).

How did you idiots handle life before Covid when no one had Zoom/Teams? We had conference calls. There was no video then (heck, we had to identify ourselves by name because there weren't boxes with our names in them on the screen), yet somehow we all still got our work done and had valuable conversations. It's not like this is some novel, new thing.

Some of you are so stupid It's like you're 22 years old and have never had a job before. There was life before Covid.

Oh sweetheart, if you think everyone with their camera on is only focused on you in the meeting, you are so, so naive and stupid.

I have three monitors. I'm very good at facing the camera that shows me from motionless the neck up while I am doing other work or reading a random website while Teams is on in the background somewhere.

If people don’t have their cameras on, and consistently don’t, the message I get is that they really don’t want to be part of the meeting. I get that people occasionally need to go off camera, but if you are teleworking I think it is unprofessional not to turn on your camera.

I actually find the big block of faces super distracting. I don't like it at all.

Often I’m camera off bc I want to stand up, stretch, or I’ll do the meeting on my phone and occupy my hands so I DONT agent tempted to multitask at my computer, trust me that in some meetings I’m able to pay much more attn when I’m camera off.

Eh, I have a colleague like you (thinks they’re fooling everyone but clearly not focused on what’s going on). Just turn your camera off.

That's BS. Everyone is multi-tasking during meetings. That's why they don't want cameras on - they're literally being twice as productive.

No camera. It's VERY distracting trying to see what everybody looks like.
