He was on the Bush Cheney 2000 Campaign. There were many gay men on this campaign and many of them came out eventually (and they are great!) but not Matt. Instead he married a loony devout Catholic woman and had 5 dds. That said, I don't think being gay makes one a serial assaulter. He has much deeper issues like many on the far right.

All the young people in the Bush administration were pairing up and getting married at the time. Mercy needed something quick and he gave her a career/image boost too. She was probably oblivious then but eventually figured it out. I almost feel sorry for her but not quite.
