Is this the latest "angle" parents in the DMV are encouraging?

Good works, even if done for a short period of time, are still worthwhile. And not all efforts will be successful. But anecdotally, it is curious.

Sad. Not one of them care to continue their charities after then get in to college and most are frat-bro d-bags with not a single charitable bone in them. Basically, they are lying scammers who take after their parents.

Most of these nonprofits operate locally. It would make more sense to hand it off to someone who is local, perhaps even younger high schoolers.

And that person who allegedly started it (shhh.. it was her mom), hasn’t done anything with it since she left for California. I know this because l also volunteer with them. It’s run by other people who care while the founder is having fun at Stanford. At least they continue to do good, and l had an amazing experience with their help, but definitely not thanks to the founder!

The website is clear she is a founder but she doesn't run it.

It is her lawyer mom that runs it, right??

Yes, it's the tiger lawyer mom that runs it and treats all her kids as a project to ace

I am a child of an addict, as I have gotten older, I have realized just how many children of addicts fall into the same lifestyle as their parents, especially in my community. Also, as a child, I felt alone most of the time as if I was the only one going through what I was going through. I want to start a non-profit to help children of addicts. I am currently trying to figure out how I am going to do this as well as measure impact. I am definitely still in the research stage of this, but I am very hopeful that my personal experience as a child of an addict and volunteering with other non-profits will give me a good baseline of knowledge. Also I found this platform https://betterworld.org/ on the web. It seems to be free and effective
