You seem to be the one who needs to get over yourself. |
Dc is embedded in Md ( Md’s gift to the country) and both own the Potomac River. It’s geography, history and seamless connections. |
No. Dixie is tiny, but also always got our kegs there in my 20s. Eagles was a big store. |
My dad got a bushel of crabs there every summer in my childhood. I remember so vividly all the times I went there with him. People are amazed at how well I can pick a crab . My husband went to college in Baltimore (from the Midwest) and wound always have me open his. I taught my kids how to pick them- the difference between the males and females and how you can tell.

Omg that is a blast from the last! Wtf was up with that?!? |
Yes! I remember him! How about: The older man who protested outside the Holy See on Mass Ave for years and years. WAPO ultimately did a story on him (he had been abused by a Priest, I believe in Poland) |
But OP's statement was accurate. Most DC residents are from somewhere else. They didn't say "all." https://www.dcpolicycenter.org/publications/which-areas-have-the-highest-share-of-d-c-born-residents/ |
I am PP from above! So glad that someone else remembers the joyful jogger. I used to hear him from my office running/dancing down 9th St and I would go and watch him. And I very much remember the Mass Ave/Catholic Church protestor. I still look for him everytime I pass that corner. There was a profile done on him years ago about how he was sexually abused. I have to say--he was years ahead of his time as at at the time in trying to expose the Church. At the time, I had no idea how pervasive it was! |
I literally right side walked around a left stander on the metro escalator just now. We were both dressed for the office. And yesterday someone asked the bus driver to open the door instead of pressing the stop request button exactly an inch from her hand. Common sense does not seem to transplant easily. |
| #9 for sure |
+1 UMD the state flagship is inside the beltway. |
| I knew I became a Washingtonian when I visited my Midwestern family and everyone started hating me after a 5 minute conversation. |
+1000! |
When you couldn't turn right on 14th Street because of the prostitutes. |
| Anyone remember Avignon Freres in Adams Morgan? |
