Look.... Biden and the Dems got us into this mess.
The fix is not to spend more money and tax more. The fix is to reduce taxes, stop spending, and cut regulations. But, these things would never fly with the far left so Biden would never consider it.
This act will compound the problems we are currently experiencing. And, when that happens.... Biden will find someone or something else to blame.

Wait, what?

What was the GDP and unemployment rate when Biden took office and what it is today?

Do you seriously not remember 2020?

That's how republican governance works. They break it and then blame the next guy for not immediately fixing it. It's happening to Biden, it happened to Obama when he took office less than six months after Bear and Lehman collapsed, for those with longer memories, it happened to Clinton taking office after the 91-92 recession.
And to Carter and to FDR……..

I love Manchin he’s playing chess while the Squad is playing checkers. They’re so desperate they’d sign it if he named it the ‘Kiss Manchin’s Butt Bill of 2022’

Manchin isn't playing chess. He's playing his own warped version of "football" just like how Lucy used to do it in the Peanuts comics.

And if this is passed next week what will you say then?

Preparing for that vote

Inane comment revealing a complete lack of understanding of how the political system works. Democrats control the house, senate and executive so it’s entirely irrelevant what republicans propose.

What?!? You don’t have to be in the majority to propose legislation.

When Democrats are in charge, you do. Neither Nancy nor Chuck are keen on allowing AMENDMENTS, let alone legislation proposed by Republicans.

it is not so much taxing more as taxing fairly.

Fixing loopholes that shield big earnings which are quietly going to billionaires.

Prove it. What amendment to this bill was introduced and rejected? Provide a link.

Cutting taxes would be inflationary.

Republicans do the same thing. Was at a Senate debate with Senators Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Rob Portman (R-OH). They both lamented that each of their leaders do this. They both wanted it to stop.

Oh really? How quickly we forget . . This is re: the ACA and is only one site that shows many amendments were allowed to ACA, as well as overtures to get bipartisan buy-in on the bill. McConnell directed his caucus not to cooperate.

"Democrats on that committee accepted 160 Republican amendments to the bill."

The last tax cut saved me well over 10k a year in federal income tax. I was not in favor of that nor did I need it. And frankly it is all going into SEP IRAs and investments.

That said...cutting taxes is not an option. When you have nearly half the country paying little to no federal income tax and quite a few getting refunds through tax credits...who are you going to cut taxes on? Me? The rest of the upper 10% who don't need such a cut?
