Which majors make someone seem sophisticated?

I second classics (Latin & Greek), philosophy, etc. I also think comparative literature when paired with advanced language study like French, Russian, German, etc (potentially international relations too when combined with language proficiency). Everyone has a different opinion and values different thing, and I guess I value multilingualism (my parents met in grad school for French & Russian, which I grew up speaking along with German, and as academics, many of my parents' friends and colleagues in the humanities and social sciences were also multilingual and/or multicultural).

*Someone become a master sommelier
* One who has travelled widely outside the U.S.
*A person who speaks multiple languages
*Etc.
