| How does Dr. Fauci know the potential for long Covid from omicron? It hasn’t even been in South Africa that long. |
Another burgundy family here - sure wish they would have sent any communication last night, even if incomplete, but agree with you that the silence means we aren’t going back this week. Ugh. |
| Our school is doing absolutely nothing! They just asked parents if we were ready to switch to virtual learning. No testing, no mandating/encouraging vaccines, no requirement for better masks, no request for subs. Yeah, sounds like a plan! Dark days ahead! |
Over 100 kids missing the test is concerning. It might mean families are extending their vacations which could mess up the schools’s plan to get everyone back and tested. Hope these families have the decency to at least be back for the next round of testing since the school is doing everything they can. |
| It seems all the school testing is “catching” is the community spread, which is also available from the health departments. When the community spread was low, we got congratulatory weekly emails with all negative Covid test results. Now that the community spread is high, the school tests are reflecting just that. So, I guess, thanks for reconfirming the community spread numbers. |
| But shouldn’t the numbers be lower than the general community because school populations have a higher vaxx rate? |
And another Burgundy parent here, with another negative kid. Mine actually likes remote learning, so, we're fine there -- but to be selfish for a moment, teleworking with a kid at home is rough. And mine's old enough to self-manage. Hats off to those of you with smaller children -- once this is all over, you deserve the best and quietest vacation ever. |
People who are vaccinated are catching covid right and left this month. They just aren't all symptomatic. I would say that what schools are determining in one-of screenings is just the tip of the ice berg of this wave of Omnicron, due to the timing of the tests related to contracting it as well as test error. |
Those kids were supposed to antigen test this morning before school (if in person). They canceled that because they are doing distance learning. No one was going to be let into the building without a test. |
Ugh yes, one of the other Burgundy PPs here - ours are too young to really handle remote learning at all, and we are both working. Or pretending to. Overall, this is bringing back terrible PTSD from last year when our kids were at a different school that was nearly all virtual for 14 months and we nearly didn't make it. |
He doesn’t. He’s been wrong on so many prior statements. |
Hang in there! Someday we'll look back on this and... probably not laugh. |
WES had become on joke on covid issues. Requiring kids to wear N95s at all times outside and while they are playing basketball. Worse than GDS. Time for new leadership. |
Seriously! Thank you for calling our the dirty public school parents who don't care about their kids and hate good parents....I mean rich people.....I mean those are the same thing actually. |
Wtf? I did the post asking about private school announcements and I am absolutely 100 percent a private school parent |
