Infertility Support and Discussion
|
I just came down with a sore throat a few days ago and while it's getting a little better, wondering if it will affect my ovulation date. I'm supposed to ovulate today.
Also, does having a cold (even if it's mild) affect my chances of getting pregnant? I imagine the body wouldn't let itself get pregnant if my health isn't 100% great. Thanks! |
| A cold or general illness should not impact your ovulation or ability to get pregnant. I don't mean to sounds snarky - seriously - but if it were true that your body has to be at 100%, then how do drug addicts get pregnant? I had an awful sinus infection on one cycle and was still able to get pregnant. |
| Sometimes when I was sick my ovulation would be a bit later than usual. Depends on the severity of your ilness though. |
| I conceived my first son while I had a cold. My chart looked wacky because my temp was higher than normal for 3 days right around ovulation while I had the cold (no fever, just higher morning temp than usual). Anyway, point is that it didn't affect my fertility at all. Good luck! |
