Recommend your high speed internet

We have verizon (fios) and it's meh and pricey. We are really trying to cut expenses. Is there such a thing as inexpensive high speed internet?

Have you called Verizon to try to negotiate prices? If you are seriously considering switching, they are likely willing to lower your current rate if you stay.

We have Verizon Fios (finally arrived in Chevy Chase, DC) and locked in a very good rate for the next two years. It actually comes out to the same price as high-speed DSL.

We also do not subscribe to cable--just internet and phone. We use our Roku to watch Netflix streaming, and I just saw that Roku will have a service for Hulu subscribers soon.

Funny. We just switched to Fios and saved a bundle of money and love the service. I think you should call around, see what other offers you can get, and then before you swtich call FIOS and see what they will do. Comcast called us every day for 2 weeks, offering us deals to come back. So there is a lot of competition going on right now.

Are you looking for high-speed internet alone? If you have cable, the real "savings' is in the bundling of phone, TV and internet. While I imagine there is only a savings if you need all three, we basically pay the same price for all three that we used to pay for one.
