I've been feeling full in my lower abdomen lately. Tonight, I just felt my belly and it really feels like my uterus is huge (like during pregnancy) and above my belly button. I used to check fundal height during pregnancy, and this is pretty much what it felt like then. No way I'm 20 weeks pregnant (or however far along I'd be if my fundus were this height). I have an IUD and I got my period about a month ago. But I'm pretty sure that's what I'm feeling. Anyone else experienced this? And, if so, how in the world do I address this with my doctor?

Very simple - call your doctor and tell him/her your concerns. "It feels like my fundus is as high as my belly button. I would like to schedule an appointment ASAP so that you can examine me."
IMO there are three possibilities: you are pregnant and your fundus is indeed rising from that; you have some other sort of growth in your uterus and you are feeling that; or you have a nice roll of fat right there which you are feeling. An HPT could rule out number one, but a doc should check you out to rule out number two. |
I feel like that way too. I just got an Iud about 6 weeks ago. I feel bloated. Is this normal?
21:57- do you have mirena IUD? With that one, you can feel bloated. I have paragard which has no hormones, so I shouldn't be bloated bc of that.
Yes, I do have the Mirena. I wish I had known about the weight gain and bloating. I hate it already and it's only been 6 weeks. Does it get better?
You know....after a pregnancy your intestines shift all around. It could be a loop of intestine with a big ole' poo that you're feeling. See if it's still there after a big BM and report back....
