Infertility Support and Discussion
I just realized that my next cycle and monitoring is probably going to get in the way of our Thanksgiving plans. I spent about 2 weeks last cycle having to go in for monitoring almost every other day. We have plans to go out of town for the holiday, but it looks like we'll have to stay here. If it was just a matter of blood work, I could see getting that done elsewhere, but to get a sono and blood work done at least once, maybe twice while we're gone seems unlikely. Plus, we'll hopefully be triggering at that time. Anyone else in the same boat? What are you planning to do?
I triggered last yr. on T-giving day for my IVF cycle so I had to stay in town. It sucks, but for me it was worth it

Yeah, that's just part of the deal when you're going through infertility treatment.
if you're going to be triggering, I think you pretty much have to be in town. we stayed local last thanksgiving for that reason. sorry...
OP here - I get that it's part of the deal, it's just so frustrating. This will be the 3rd major family event we've had to excuse ourselves from in the past 6 months. Family is understanding, but we hate missing out.
Yup, it is frustrating. If you're young, you can always take a cycle off and try to schedule at better times. I was old, so I cycled every month for almost 3 years.
You don't know her situation. Just because you are young, does not necessarily mean that time is on your side. I was DOR at 28, and now showing signs of menopause at 34. OP may not have a choice about skipping cycles if she wants to conceive. |
Well, if you don't, then you run into Christmas. Since many clinics close entirely over that break, you're looking at delaying two months if you wait. For some people, that lack of additional stress in the holiday season is a big plus. For others, the stress comes from waiting. Follow your gut.
