How often do you pray? Say novenas? Pray the Rosary?
Do you often pray for intercessions? (such as infertility) |
| Um never. I am a very lapsed catholic. |
| I pray 2-3 times a day. |
| once a week, generally when I really want something to happen or not to happen. |
| At least once a day. I try to do all the types of prayers, including intercessory. |
| Never. |

I pray three times a day, too. The rosary on my way to work, novena during the day, and pray on my way home.
It feels pretty good. |

For the serious stuff, I reach out to my BFFs mom, who is always happy to do a novena. I also call on my heathen parents, who are so lapsed it's ridiculous, because I believe that their prayers matter more because they so rarely do it.

PP 13:42 here; it does feel good! But, just a fyi I'm not Catholic....... |
|
I pray every night before bed, every night with my children before they go to bed, on Sunday mornings at church, and whenever I am feeling a lot of stress or anxiety.
I do not ask for specific actions or material things, but I do ask for things like peace, contentment, calm, strength, patience, wisdom, and to keep my loved ones safe from harm. I also give abundant thanks in prayer. |
13:53 again. I'm a Protestant, fwiw. |
| Never. |
I'm intrigued by this. Do you not pray for remission when a family member has cancer? Do you not pray for your husband to get the dream job he applied for? Do you not pray for your son to make friends at his new school? I'm not judging. In fact, I wish I was better at giving thanks, but I wonder why you wouldn't pray for specifics in some circumstances. |

How does this work? Whose prayers are answered? And why? |
| I wrote the post you quoted PP. And I gather you are asking why people pray or why the believe prayers are answered? I am the wrong person to ask. I am not qualified to answer the question because I have the same questions you do. I just pray sometimes anyway. |
