IVF & MDIPA...after you have done three cycles

I am a Fed going through IVF, and will be doing my third cycle (per MDIPA's count) in January. I am nervous that this cycle won't work, as MDIPA coverage only gives you three.

I was wondering, if my worst case scenario occurs, and #3 doesn't work, is there any way to get MDIPA to cover anything for a fourth cycle? Looking at my out of pocket if they won't cover drugs, I don't know how I could possibly afford it.

i don't think so. The drug coverage is tied to the medical benefit and not to your pharmacy benefit.

No. Why not switch to another now? I am in the same boat - just finished cycle 2 with MDIPA so plan on switching to Aetna during open season.

definitely switch to aetna. I tried and there did not seem to be any exceptions.
