Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
We're toying with the idea of having Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant. We don't want banquet food, if you know what I mean. Any suggestions of someplace nice that would work well for carnivores, pescetarians and vegetarians alike? Many thanks.
We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner at Ardeo in Cleveland Park a few years back.
Went to Blue Duck Tavern last year and it was very very good. Kind of expensive though, so depends on what you're looking for.
I think all of the Clyde's restaurants are open for Thanksgiving. We went to the one in Tysons years ago, and they had a regular menu, in addition to the traditional Thanksgiving dinner.
Chef Geoff's has their Thanksgiving Day menu on their website. They seem to have both holiday and regular items.
La Vecindad, a new restaurant on the SE edge of Capitol Hill that serves Cuban and Mexican food, is offering deep-fried turkey for Thanksgiving.
I believe there are a number of places on Georgia Avenue that offer Chinese Food, Subs, Chicken and Seafood - should be something for everyone there. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks, all, some of these suggestions sound great. The carnivores will want turkey and at least one of them won't be happy without it.
We took this route last year but the turkey go all messed up when they put it in the plexiglass spindle thing once we put the money through. |

I think 2941 in Fairview Park, Falls Church is doing another buffet or plated option again |
Washingtonian had a guide to Thanksgiving dinner menus last year: http://www.washingtonian.com/articles/diningguides/14125.html
We're doing 2941. Pricey though, $65 in advance per adult, $25 per child.
