Infertility Support and Discussion
|
I only have one tube, and during my IVF cycle it appeared only the ovary on the other side was stimming (had 10 eggs on one side and 1 on the other). Doctors seemed to blow-off idea that I only ovulate on one side (the side on which I don't have a tube), but I wonder if something could be off with with the other ovary:
1. Before IVF was able to get pregnant twice (one ended in loss) easily. I'm a year or two older (34) now. 2. I apparently am prone to scaring (had C-section with very difficult recovery and subsequent ectopic with likely cause according to OB adheasions from C-section). 3. I was in terrible pain from C-section (i.e., for months) and after ectopic & D&C (for a year, until I got pregnant) Has any one had a situation like this? Any thoughts? As grateful as I am for IVF part of me wonders how truly necessary it was in my case. Dr said based on not conceiving for a year odds extremely low of conceiving naturally. We did try a year but given I only had one tube of course I was only *really* fertile for half of those months. I'd really appreciate thoughts and advice as we think about what to do next. |
