Infertility Support and Discussion
I've been going to CFA for several months and see Dr. Sacks. I am always in and out quickly but notice that other patients who were there before me, are often still in the waiting room when I leave. Is this because they are there for other things, not just the quick b/w and sono, or are certain REs or their nurses slower? The only time I have waited is when Dr. Sacks wanted to personally come in an do my sono, and even then it wasn't very long. I was called back immediately after sitting down the last time I was there and I heard another patient go up after seeing me called back so quickly and complain she had been waiting 30 minutes, so that made me wonder.
i was a patient of dr. abbasi 2 1/2 years ago. there was always a wait. there would be ladies lined up waiting for the office to open b/c the nurse and/or receptionist were constantly late (arlington office). it was really ridiculous. when i ended up at SG i was happily amazed at how quick and efficient they were.
I have been at Arlington for a year and a half, and only rarely had a long wait (unlike my ob-gyn's office, where I regularly waited for more than an hour....)
I think it depends what you are there for. I rarely had to wait more than 15 minutes for routine blood work and ultrasound monitoring. Dr. Sacks is pretty good about keeping to his schedule. I couple of times I had to wait a bit longer for consults with him, but then I realized that he takes a lot of time during consults. He doesn't rush people out the door.
Those people might be waiting for a procedure instead of monitoring. I have been going to CFA on and off for almost 5 years and can only think of a few times I had a long wait. Once was because the front desk messed up and did not put me in line for a sono. The other times were waiting for a consult, where I don't mind waiting as long as my appointment is not rushed when I get in there.
I've actually had ato wait a long time when we had appointments to Dr. Sacks in his office. It's annoying but not the end of the world. Waits aren't long for bloodworks and sonos.
I went to CFA for 2 years and I'd say about every 3rd or 4th time I had a long wait (say, an hour instead of 30 minutes). I was never sure why. Agree that meeting with Dr Sacks was always a longer wait.
I had an awful time with the CFA arlington office, and din't find the nurses or Dr. Abassi helpful or caring. If I had Dr. sacks maybe I would have felt differently, but I ended changing practices.
OP here - I really love CFA and am very happy with it. I was just curious if those other patients were waiting for a specific doctor or if it was just that they were there for a more complicated appointment than just the usual monitoring b/w and sono. Sounds like it's the latter.
