$385 upgrade fee for all-porcelain crown?

Anonymous
Does that sound right to you? the fee is not covered by insurance, which will pay for a crown with a metal post in it.

am I being taken for a ride?

I don't know about the cost issues or who is imposing the cost, but you'll get a better cosmetic result with all-porcelain crowns.

Dental work is not cheap so $385 is probably not an unusual cost for all-porcelain. I would opt for the all-porcelain especially if it is near the front of your smile.

If I could go back, I would. $385 is better than the regret.

The $385 is on top of what insurance covered? I paid about 400 for my porcelain crown after insurance.

Sounds nicely priced considering that i just paid $3500 for porcelain veneers on my two front teeth.

Years ago, I paid $300 per tooth for veneers that weren't porcelain. (which was a deal compared to what other dentists quoted.) $385 for a porcelain crown sounds reasonable.
