In the past, it was because he's a Dem. I'm embarassed to admit I haven't been paying close attention to the race. But I'm not sure that I should go with my default vote today. Tell me why I should vote for O'Malley. |
I've made a conscious decision not to vote for the Governor's position. I hate O'Malley, but I also think Ehrlich is pure evil. If either party had put anyone else up, I automatically would have voted for them. |
I'm a liberal democrat but O'Malley has naver been a favorite of mine. I voted for him as a vote against Ehrlich. O'Malley's two saving graces are that he's anti death penalty and pro education. |
Because a vote for Bob Ehrlich as a vote for Douchebaggery. |
I don't think either one is head and shoulders above the other but O'Malley, who is a good guy, seems to be gun shy to push things forward.
But really consider getting rid of the career people in Annapolis, that is where the problem is. |
Unfortunately this election brought out very little of the budget difficulties that Maryland is going to face with unfunded pensions. Maryland is $120 billion in the hole and no matter who gets elected, they will have to deal with this.
|
There's a good analysis in the Post this morning that contrasts their positions on some issues. |
Vote for O'Malley if you want all of your tax dollars to be spent on the Purple Line and not on new schools. If you like paying high taxes and sending your kids to school in a trailer, vote for him. |

Unfunded pension and heath liabilities info. |
cause he's kinda hot and used to be in a rock band. ![]() |
He's actually super hot. I kid you not, I swooned when I shook his hand! |
You shouldn't. He's going to continue to spend Maryland into financial collapse. At least Ehrlich will get a better handle on the budget crisis. |
How can any governor do that with a balanced budget mandate? |
Common sense, if your family was in a financial crisis what would you do? How about growing a freaking backbone, making some tough decisions, & really cut spending to actually balance the budget. Instead, he'll continue to spin the deficit he's gotten us into, which is so large now it would take a decade of huge cuts to fix, by telling us "he can't balance the budget because, it would just hurt too much". |
