looking for reccomendations

I'm the one who posted asking about Dr Handelman and Dr. Gottlieb. I've done my research (and doing some more!), so I can tell you that both of these docs are top-rated on Washington Checkbook. My neighbors strongly recommend Dr. Gottlieb (in Four Corners by Blair High School). I saw Dr. Handelman (Georgia/Dennis Ave.) for a second opiniona and liked him, too. (But he's not a "preferred provider" on my plan, although I could switch next year). Another dentist a friend recommended is Todd Galkin on Colesville/Sligo. I can also tell you there is a HUGE range of what dentists will charge so I'd suggest you find an in-network dentist if you have insurance.

Avoid Todd Galkin at all costs. I know someone who saw him and he charged a fortune for work that he did not actually do (and essentially ~winked~ at the patient, making the remark that the patient wasn't paying so what did the patient care). I believe he was dropped from that insurance network for what amounted to insurance fraud.
