lollipops....what age?

At what age did you feel safe giving your child a lollipop?

Well, I never did feel safe, but day care gave him one of those Dum Dums when he was 2.5 and he did OK with it. He's almost 4 and I feel comfortable now.

Not before 3.

I know this will make me sound like a horrible fun-sucking mom, but what is with haircut places giving lollipops to very young toddlers? And of course they want to eat it...drives me nuts! Anyway, I was never really comfortable with it until between 2.5 and 3.

I know! Why can't they just do stickers?

Around 2.5 but only when seated like in high chair/booster chair or car seat.

My DD started to choke on a Dum Dum that came off the stick at 27 months, she is fine but it scared the crap out of me. At this point we are probably waiting until at least 3 1/2.

My daughter is 3y 2mo and I won't give her one.

About a month ago, I took a CPR class for infants, children, and adults and it just made me even more conservative on this issue!

I'm not sure when I"ll give her a lolly comfortably. So far she's had two, both under my direct supervision, and I was on high alert. Not comfortable. Couldn't keep my eyes off her. Sheesh!
