pumpkin seed question!

In order to roast pumpkin seeds, how do you get all the "guts" of the pumpkin off the seeds? i am washing and washing in a colander and the "guts" are not coming off ...

I've also read that people boil them in salted water. But remember that the "guts" aren't poisonous. We eat pumpkin pie, after all, so a little bit lingering shouldn't be a problem.
