Infertility Support and Discussion
| I'm 14 dpo and took a test with morning pee and it's a very, VERY faint positive. But a positive none-the-less. Is it possible that I'm getting a faint positive because of residual trigger shot in my system? Maybe that is why it's so faint and not truly a positive? Be honest...I can take it. I would rather not get my hopes up. |
| At 14dpo I would doubt this is still your trigger. Everytime I ever cycled I would have metabolized the trigger by 8dpo. Plus, most clinics do betas at 14dpo. Sounds to me like you are pregnant. Congratulations!!!!!!! |

| No, not trigger at 14dpo. But my experience with very faint BFPs at 14dpo has been that they were chemical pregnancies. Everyone's different, though, and people metabolize hCG differently, it depends on the type of test used, etc. I would say it is a positive test but you need a beta. |
| I had a very faint positive HPT at 14 dpo and was very much pregnant. The line didn't darken until a few days after I missed my period. If you read the test within the first ten minutes, than you are most likely pregnant. Good luck!!!!! |
| I would say it is positive, but be CAUTIOUSLY optimistic. I got a faint positive too at that time, but it was chemical. Take it tomorrow and see if the line gets darker--if so, you're on the right track. |

My faint positive at 14 dpo is now 4 years old.
Good luck! |

I agree with everyone above. I think that's too late to be the trigger -- you're likely pregnant!!
Fingers crossed -- good luck!! |
| Thanks for the replies. My line didn't get any darker today. Still very faint. I'm going to go in for beta tomorrow. I've kind of accepted the fact that it may be a chemical pregnancy. For those that have had chemicals...how long did it take to get your period? Did you get it within a few days of being late? |
|
Yes, with a chemical, your period will most likely be just a few days late & your next cycle should be pretty normal. (I've had 2 & that was the case both times.)
But hopefully you'll get good news from the beta today. Keep us posted! |
| Ugh, should not have done a HPT but I did and am now miserable with doubt. Got a positive HPT yesterday and today, but wondering if this is a false positive. Any guidance would be much appreciated or sharing of similar experiences would be much appreciated. As background: triggered 10/17 with Lupron (not HCG) and then retreival on 10/19 with a shot of 1500 IUs of HCG. Day 5 transfer was on 10/24. Did two HPTs yesterday, one today and all positive (now at 13 days past retrieval and 8 days past transfer). Could this just be a false positive or is there hope that I might actually be preggers?! My beta is Friday. |
OP here - just wanted to let everyone know that my beta went well, a strong 283. I go back on Wednesday to make sure the hormones are doubling the way they should. Fingers crossed! I've had 2 miscarriages this year, so I'm terrified of getting my hopes up, and yet trying to stay positive. Thanks for the well-wishes.

OP, that is a great beta - congratulations!
I had 2 chemical pregnancies and my betas were very low - like in the 20's - and within a few days were back to zero. Your sounds too high to be a chemical. That's a good number for 16dpo (is that what day you were on Monday?). Good luck with the repeat on Wed. |
| Congrats, OP! Hope your next beta will double! |
| i'd bet that you're pregnant. Congrats! Test again in a little while and the line should get darker. |
