Leep procedure in the hospital?

Any one had one? Please advise. Feeling nervous tonight. My GYN just called and recommended

I've had two and they really were realtively simple. My doctor tried to be conservative about the amount of tissue to be removed during the first procedure, but follow up PAPs still showed bad cells.

Both procedures were done at Fair Oaks Hospital. I just showed up in the AM to the outpatient surgical suite and within an hour I was wheeled into the back for the procedure. I didn't remember a thing and honestly it didn't hurt at all afterwards - which was one of my fears! I think the toughest part was recovering from the anesthia as I tend to get neasuas (sp?).

Mine was done at an outpatient surgery center under general anethesia. Wasn't bad at all. Recovery nothing except the discharge.

Mine was done in the office, got a Valium to take before and local numbing, maybe there are more than 1 type of leep?

I had my done in the OB's office and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. I did not take valium beforehand but could have used one. The worse part was getting the local but it wasn't so bad that I would want to have it done in a hospital. It took maybe 20 minutes and I walked out of there. Warning - regardless where you have the procedure done be prepared for some serious (nasty) discharge!

I had it done earlier this year at Sibley, outpatient. I had never had anesthesia and was very nervous, but it went fine. Good luck!
