Question about follicles

On an unmedicated cycle, how many follicles should you have in each ovary?

At the beginning of your cycle, on cd2 or 3, the more "antral" follicles you have the better (I think normal is something like 10 or 20). But before ovulation, most women only have one mature follicle each month on a natural cycle.

Thanks. Sounds like the antral follicle count is done right at the beginning of a cycle, then?

So I just had an ultrasound on Day 8 -- 4 follicles on the right ovary and 5 on the left. Is that a good, bad, ordinary number? Thank you!

I had an us on cd 9 and showed 9 or 8 on one side and 10 on the other and was told that was great.

And that was unmedicated?

13:54 here , yes it was unmedicated. I was being tested for diminished ovarian reserve bc of a sky high fsh reading.
