| Thinking about going this winter when kids are 3 1/2 years and 18 months. Is it worth it or should I wait? It looks like there is a lot to do and I'm not sure 2 young kids would have that much energy or attention span. |
| I think your 3 1/2 yr. old would enjoy it, might need to take some mid-day breaks, go to the pool, take a nap and then head back to the parks later. Your 18 mos. would be free, so go now or if you wait till both children can enjoy it later and pay for the child rate for both. |

I would wait until your youngest is 3 to go.
Unless you plan to make another trip in a couple years, then go now. But if you plan for this Disney trip to be it, wait a couple years until your youngest can actually remember Disney and will appreciate it a little bit more. |
This is what we're planning to do. Our 4.5 year old would probably enjoy it a great deal, but our 2.5 year old would probably be overwhelmed, so I think we're going to try to go next year. My hope is that by then even our youngest one will remember it. |
| I am going to wait till my kids are just slightly too old for it. That way we will only have to go to that swampy hell-hole once. |
I like your plan! |
| We went when kids were 6 and 3.5. The 3.5-year-old was almost too young. |
5 was a good age. 2 was too young. I went when I was 16 and had a blast, although clearly Mickey wasn't the big draw at that age.

We thought we had dodged the bullet with 2 boys, neither of whom had the slightest interest in going. Then, along came our girl, and, despite our best efforts to shield her from all things Disney (well, except "Winnie the Pooh", "Lady and the Tramp", "101 Dalmations" and "Mulan", which I deemed acceptably non-Princessy), she dreamed of going to see the Mouse. So, we held off as long as we could and went when she was nearly 7 and middle son was nearly 13 (oldest weaseled out of it with a school trip). Upshot -- we had a blast. And, the most priceless moment was watching our teen shake hands with Tigger -- he was awe-struck. For those of you with young kids, among the many benefits of waiting until your kids are older is that you don't have to worry about tantrums, melt-downs, naps, strollers, diapers, etc. And, they'll actually remember the trip. Plus, there is something very fun in a retro way about the experience for older kids . . . even those of us nearing 50. I definitely had a Proustian moment in "It's a Small World". |
I'm waiting until mine are old enough that they will appreciate (rather than feel ripped off) that our one "Disney" trip will actually be to Disney Paris. |
| I would not take your children until they are at least 4 yrs old. |
| Our 22 month old and 3.5 year old loved it. We will go again next year. All of these people are party poppers!!! |
Hah! Your children couldn't care less. You are the ones that love it, you oversize children. |

My first taste of Disney was in Tokyo when I was 10. Loved it!
Then I lived in Paris for many years as a teen. My friends and I had year passes to Disneyland Paris so we would go endlessly on school weekends to avoid holiday crowds. Loved it. So I am forcing myself to waaaaait until my children are old enough to appreciate the whole thing (or we can go back to live in Paris and just do the year-long pass thing). |
