Halloween at public schools

Do public schools celebrate Halloween? My MIL is a teacher in PG county and she said they dont celebrate Halloween in her school. Just curious if they was true everywhere. What about privates?

My son is at a public school in Arlington. They are having a Halloween parade tomorrow where all the students dress up in costumes and are led around by a marching band. Then they will have a short party in their classroom with games and food.

Son at ps in Moco elementary and will have parade with small party in classroom afterwards. Will wear costume without any weapons.

I have kids in FCPS elementary school and they celebrate "Fall", not "Halloween". As long as the treats are for "fall" and not Halloween, no one complains.

Stoddert (a DCPS) is doing a fall festival thing of some sorts (I don't have a kid there, but live in the neighborhood). The kids are dressed in costumes and there are apparently class parties after a parade around the neighborhood. I don't know if the only difference between that and a "halloween" celebration is the name, but from what I see, it looks pretty halloweenish to me.

Two Rivers PCS does not celebrate Halloween. Parents are warned not to send their kids to school in costume. They do have a fall festival about a week or so before Halloween.

Another MoCo parent here. We have a Halloween parade and party. Parents can opt their kid out. In the alternative, there is a Harvest Celebration that goes on at the same time. I think they can also opt out of that as well and go to the media center. There are rules about costumes, which is no weapons.
