Requesting a Teacher

Is this a thing people do? There is a teacher in the grade my DS is going into who he seems to really gravitate towards and she seems great. He’s a shy kid so I feel like that’s a good sign. Would it be weird if I requested he be in her class?

My school frowns on that but some people make a request for the sort of teacher their child would be successful with...that might point the school towards their preference.

I would make the request and focus on why you think that this specific teacher would be a good fit for your child.
