| Title says it all. The school skews heavily female. DS loved the school when we visited, especially the marine biology major. He's a sporty (lax and golf), preppy kid who felt right at home on campus and on King Street. Wondering if there are enough similar boys to hang with. |
| OP, all I can say is that your concerns are valid. |
| Gonzaga (the all-boys DC high school) always sends some boys to C of C. And Gonzaga is definitely a school with a golf-and-lax vibe. |
| I read the book Among the Bros and would be concerned about sending a son there. Check it out. |
| Almost 70% female with few Chads among the male population sounds like it would be heaven for your DS. Shooting fish in a barrel. |
OP here- yes I read the book and was shocked but that was many years ago and I think the frat is gone. |
| DS has a friend going there. Has to do semester abroad. But turned down other schools for this. |
Are you saying that this friend has to start his first semester abroad as a student at C of C? I'm going to be blunt. How bad are his high school grades? |
+1. Make sure he has enough condoms before he gets there. |
+100 He’s guaranteed to not just have a girlfriend, but a hot girlfriend. By the time he graduates he will almost certainly be serious with a beautiful, rich girl. You’ll be a proud grandparent by the time he’s 30 while other moms are wondering why they will never have grandkids after sending their kid to some miserable college up north. |
| possibly the worst thread ever |
| I know some girls who went there. I believe they were in the honors program. Down to earth and bright. They had great experiences, learned a lot, and had very good outcomes afterwards. I was skeptical but pleasantly surprised. |
My DS '27 is smart but a bit lazy. I've encouraged him to marry rich. Consequently, we visited in the spring and C of C is on the list! |
He's Roose Bolton looking for his Walda. |
I've got one of those so adding to my list as well. He also has expensive tastes. |
