Other candiates for Mayor: Goodweather/Johnson?

Especially now that we have ranked choice voting, so I'm not at risk of wasting my vote, I'm seriously considering ranking one or both of Gary Goodweather or Ernest Johnson above McDuffie/JLG for mayor.

Anyone know much about them? I've read their websites and some interviews with them, but I'm fishing for other info.

I just posted in the other thread. I'd like to put Sampath first and McDuffie second, but I don't know a good RCV strategy, i.e. I'd rather McDuffie win over JLG, but don't want to put him first as a protest to these terrible candidates.

The whole point of RCV is that you can vote your conscience without worrying about throwing your vote away on a candidate that isn’t among the top two finishers. If your first (or second or third or even fourth) choice isn’t ultimately among the top two contenders, your second (or third or fourth) choice becomes your first. The mechanics of how RCV votes are tabulated are complicated, but it greatly simplifies things for the voter as you don’t need to strategize at all when doing your ranking.

Ok thanks. I’ve looked into how the votes are tabulated, but not finding much.

I can't vote Goodweather until he explains where he's going to put a small nuclear reactor in DC and how it would make electric bills lower. They're only (theoretically) cost effective at larger scale.

Rank Sampath first and McDuffie second. Don’t rank JLG. Unless some insane voting happens, your vote will eventually go to McDuffie.
