Remind me how year-end grades work

When do teachers need to have final grades in? I remember in ES, my kids came home with a report card on the last day of school. But my high schoolers now still have final exams today and tomorrow. For my older one, the finals in two classes could bump him from an A- to an A. But I would think teachers need a bit of time to grade finals, right?

Look on SIS and check to see if the final grades are in. Most of DD’s teachers have been entering final grades same day. One teacher had the final last week and still has many summatives from the year that have not been graded.

Most high school teachers (math, science and history) use a scan tron sheet for finals so it’s quick to grade. The grades on the finals should be posted shortly after taking them.

We have 24 hours after the final to get final exam grades entered and final grades posted.

I appreciate how quickly teachers get those finals graded. If only other assessments would be graded quickly! I know not all can be due to their nature, but the multiple choice ones could be done faster.

The final is the only multiple choice exam my department gives all year. How many is your kid getting?
